iPhone 12 mini: MagSafe won’t Charge it as Quickly as Other Models of iPhone 12
Apple has boasted about the higher charging capabilities of the iPhone 12 mini with MagSafe. But, the new Support Document says something else.
The news is quite shocking for the users that the iPhone 12 mini does not have such fast and quick charging power with MagSafe as Apple has boasted. Besides, MagSafe can charge the other models of iPhone 12 much more quickly than iPhone 12 mini.
Recently, Apple dazzled its users with the announcement to launch four new smartphone models. The new smartphone models will range from the giant iPhone 12 Pro Max of 6.7 inches to the tiny iPhone mini of 5.4 inches. All these new models will feature a super-fast processor and a flat-edged new design. The new models will also be introduced with the camera upgrades, putting the company back in the race of presenting the best cameras for the iPhone.
Apple boasted that the MagSafe wireless charger is twice faster on the iPhone 12 than Qi charging. The company said that the wireless charger is supplying charging power of almost 15 watts. However, Apple did not mention that the iPhone’s maximum charging power with MagSafe is 12 watts.
MagSafe Charging: Was Apple Telling the Truth?
When Apple referred to the power supply and charging speeds, it carefully inserted the words “up to.” The inserted words indicate the intention of the company. In simple terms, the company didn’t lie about the MagSafe charging speed, but it refrained from explicitly mentioning that the MagSafe charging rate of the iPhone 12 is relatively lower. According to an unverified report, MagSafe can reach the maximum charging rate when paired with the latest 20-watt wall adapter of Apple.
Some users can conclude that the MagSafe charging power has lost its luster and magic. If the users want the fastest charging, then the better option is to plug a cable into any iPhone 12 model rather than using MagSafe or any other wireless charger.
Apple is known for making the best hardware, providing exceptional services, and introducing well-integrated software globally. However, it can’t be denied that it is a business looking to market and sell its products. The users need to bear the fact in their minds whenever they go shopping for the products. Also, don’t forget the old phrase “buyer beware.” So, it can be concluded that the iPhone 12 mini is still a highly recommended and fantastic smartphone for anyone who is looking for a smaller yet top tier smartphone. Also, the MagSafe charging power of 12 watts is not going to the deal-breaker for most buyers.
