Pokemon Go: Best Counters for Cobalion and Virizion

 The Swords of Justice trio has once again arrived in Pokemon Go. The featured Pokemon in Swords of Justice are Terrakion, Cobalion, and Virizion. All these Legendary Pokemon have appeared in 5-star Raid Battles. The Swords of Justice Raid Battle started on 16th November and will be live until 24th November.

The old and new trainers of Pokemon Go are happy with this new Raid Battle update. All these Legendary Pokemon are powerful and possess different elemental abilities. It’s been a while since the trainers saw these Pokemon in Raid Battles. But now these are live, and players have the opportunity to catch them once again. If trainers are lucky, they might also encounter a shiny form as well.

All these Pokemon are powerful, but Cobalion and Virizion are weak against a common type of Pokemon. Cobalion is a Steel/Fighting-type Pokemon, and Virizion is a Grass/Fighting-type Pokemon. The common enemies of both of these Pokemon are Fire-type Pokemon. But there are many more Pokemon that can be extremely deadly upon these two. Before moving towards the best counter for these Pokemon, remember the type of Pokemon they are powerful against. 

• Cobalion is Strong against – Normal, Rock, Dark, Ice, and Steel-type Pokemon.
• Virizion is Strong against – Ground, Water, Dark, Rock, Grass, and Electric-type Pokemon.

Both of these Pokemon are vulnerable against some different and some similar types of Pokemon, but their common weakness is Fire-type Pokemon. You can either use all Fire-type Pokemon to deal with both of these Pokemon or use a mixture of several types of Pokemon.

Best Counters for Cobalion and Virizion

As mentioned earlier, you can use Fire-type Pokemon to defeat these Pokemon. There is a huge list of Powerful Pokemon in Pokemon Go that trainers can use. After the Mega Evolution, the face of Raid Battles has been changed a lot. Trainers can use Mega Evolution Pokemon to deal more damage on Raid Boss. Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y both are the top picks to deal damage on both of these Pokemon. Apart from these Pokemon, you can also use Heatran, Magmortar, Blaziken, Arcanine Typhlosion, and Infernape. However, if you don’t have powerful Fire-type Pokemon, you can use some other Pokemon type to win the battle.

Lucario

Conkeldurr is a pure Fighting-type Pokemon that also has an incredible attack stat. Its fighting moves can deal impressive damage on Steel-type Pokemon. Use Counter as a Fasts move and Dynamic Punch as a Charge move.

Mewtwo

Every trainer knows how powerful Mewtwo is. It’s a pure Psychic-type Pokemon that can put immense damage on Cobalion. Use Confusion as a Fast move and Psyshock as Charge move to win the battle quickly. 

Deoxys

Deoxys is a Mythical Pokemon that has several forms. However, it’s every form is Psychic-type, and you can use its moves against a Fighting-type Pokemon. Use Zen Headbutt and Fast move and Psycho Boost as Charge move.

Lugia

Lugia is a Legendary Flying/Psychic dual-type Pokemon. Lugia is a fan-favorite Pokemon because of its powerful moves. You can use Extrasensory as a Fast move and Future Sight as Charge move to deal immense damage.

Metagross

Metagross is a powerhouse that deals incredible damage on Fighting-type Pokemon through its Psychic-type moves. It’s a non-legendary dual-type Pokemon that has some incredible moves. Use Zen Headbutt as a Fast move and Psychic as a Charge move.

Mega Pidgeot

Pidgeot has its own special fan base. Among all Flying-type Pokemon, Pidgeot owns the highest number of fans. After the Mega Evolution update, trainers can use Mega Pidgeot in the Raid Battles. Once evolved in Mega form, use Air Slash as Fast move and Brave Bird as Charge move.

Moltres

Moltres is among the three Legendary Bird Trio. It’s a Flying/Fire dual-type Pokemon that can deal immense damage on Virizion. Virizion is weak against both Fire, and Flying-type moves, so use Fire Spin as a Fast move and Sky Attack as a Charge move.

Articuno

Just like Moltres, Articuno is also among the three Legendary Bird Trio. It’s a Flying/Ice-type Pokemon that can be really vulnerable against Virizion. Use Ice Shard as a Fast move and Hurricane as Charge move to end the battle quickly.

Mewtwo

As mentioned earlier, Fighting-type Pokemon are weak against Psychic-type moves. So use Confusion as a Fast move and Psyshock as Charge move to quickly finish the battle.

Metagross

Metagross could be your best pick against Virizion. Because of its Steel/Psychic-type ability, Virizion can’t stand a chance, so make sure to use Zen Headbutt as a Fast move and Psychic as Charge move to take down Virizion.

Lugia

Both Psychic and Flying-type moves of Lugia can damage Virizion. While using Lugia in Raid Battle, make sure to use Extrasensory as Fast move and Aeroblast as Charge move.
