Will MacBook Pro & Air be the First Silicon Macs of Apple?

Some of the latest leaks suggest that Apple may announce two new laptops, MacBook Air & Pro, each with 13 inches screens. The announcement will be made at the upcoming event, ” One More Thing.”

With the new Apple event confirmed to be held on November 10, it seems that the company may announce MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, each with 13 inches screens. Apple has already promised to release its first Mac computer based on Silicon by the end of the year. Seeing that the year is coming to its end, it seems quite certain that MacBook Air and Pro will become the headline of  the upcoming Apple event ” One More Thing.” The founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, used the legendary words “One more thing” to reveal Apple’s new and exciting products near the end of any event organized by the company.

Apple introduced the PowerBook, its first laptop based on 68000 CPU of Motorola and then chip, PowerPC in the early 1990s. The modern product line of MacBook Pro came based on Intel chips. The company transitioned all of its MacBook laptops to Intel chips within a year and used x86 processors to update Mac laptops’ model. Even though the software transition was not so smooth, using Rosetta emulation with older software helped the Apple users enjoy the flawless and higher performance while using the Mac operating system, which was familiar to them.

Once again, the company is making another big transition. Apple will use in-house chips in its Mac computers, which are the advanced versions of ARM based design. Once again, this speedy transition will be aided by Rosetta emulation. The company has proved that the system provides higher performance, even running through the code translation layer based software.

According to some latest leaks, it seems that the company is going to introduce its first Apple Silicon-based MacBook. It can also be concluded that Apple will launch two MacBook models, each of 13 inches. If the company launches two same-sized laptops, the differentiating factors will be specifications and price. Even though the tweet from Lovetodream, the most accurate leaker, was relatively brief, it aroused several anticipations regarding the two models.

As per one of the leading theories, the company may announce two models, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, 13 inches. However, there are also some anticipations that the company may announce an iMac of 26 inches. The announcement of all three products is a possibility; however, rumors hugely supporting MacBook models’ release look inevitable.

A tweet from Lovetodream also mentioned some hints regarding price. But the overall tweet was relatively short and cryptic, making it difficult to reach any reliable conclusion about MacBook models’ release. However, if the company launches the two MacBook models, then one may be for users on a tight budget, and the other perhaps for the segment ranging from mid to high.

 Apple Silicon MacBook: Details

Apple has revealed a few details about its first Mac computers based on Apple Silicon technology. According to the company, the devices will use a processor similar to one used in iPhone, iPad, Apple audio, and Watch devices, but the processor has been designed to run with tools based on macOS. When the applications are recompiled for the new MacBook models specifically, they will use the latest processors to run on the native speed of 60 percent.

The company has made considerable efforts to make the transition smooth for developers. It has claimed that most applications will be made ready to run on Apple Silicon in a few days. In simple terms, most newly announced devices will start running efficiently from day one and will get faster each day with the updates. Major developers like Microsoft and Adobe are ready with their updates, and apps have already been transitioned.

However, it is still unknown what new features the company will introduce to its devices and which features it will remove. There are speculations that the company will allow iPad apps to run on the new models. The company may remove the Touch Bar feature available at the keyboard’s top end in the modern devices of MacBook Pro. Also, the fans may get slimmer MacBook devices with thinner bezels. However, everything is still hidden, and the fans will get to know about it all when Apple’s event “One more thing” takes place.
